This week, one of our beneficiaries, Pensoft, was invited to present their experience in ITN projects at an ITN proposal writing workshop. The event was organised by the Network of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action National Contact Points for the mobile scientific and innovation community - Net4MobilityPlus and was aimed at promoting the Innovative Training Networks amongst researchers.
Prof Pavel Stoev, who is the Editorial Director of Pensoft, gave a talk on the application process and benefits of being in an ITN. Collaborations between academic institutions and SMEs in such networks are excellent for building inter-sectoral and inter-disciplinary connections, developing business ideas and learning transferrable skills.
Such collaborations provide mutual benefits to all participants in an ITN through the amazing networking opportunities they provide. Last but not least, they help early stage researchers to make an informed decision about their future careers.
That is why some the planned workshops during our final Network-wide Training Event include transition from academia to industry, startup development and entrepreneurship. Looking forward to learning more about these topics from some of the SMEs in IGNITE!
